Lemon, ginger, turmeric and pink pepper open it with a dry spice edge rather than a citrus burst, white frangipani leads a heart of tuberose, gardenia and rose, and sandalwood, vanilla, patchouli and ambergris carry it out.

KSI Take: Turmeric in the opening is the choice that separates this from every other tropical white floral, giving the frangipani a warm earthiness instead of the usual suncream sweetness. The restraint is deliberate and it works, though anyone wanting a loud tuberose should look elsewhere.
