Liquid Incense
Incense before the flame, not the smoke after it. Frankincense and elemi sit in the heart as raw resin, cold and dry and almost citric, which is a far harder effect than church smoke. Cedar, Haitian vetiver and one drop of Trat oud build the base. The resin and the citrus in the photograph are both in the formula.

Citrus, incense and oud in one long descent. Bergamot, sweet orange and lemon open with lavender alongside, then beeswax, myrrh and incense pull the whole thing into smoke. Cinnamon, guaiac wood, oud, patchouli and sandalwood close it dark and powdery. The span from that opening to this base is unusually wide, and watching it travel is most of the pleasure.

Pipe tobacco, sacred myrrh and bitter aged vanilla, written in smoke and resin. Elemi, basil and pink pepper open green and balsamic without ever turning fresh, then tobacco is lit through myrrh and frankincense and softened with dark honey. Bohemian and a little unruly, like ink stained fingers and the last curl of smoke in a late night room.

Lily of the valley and jasmine sambac over a concentrate of white flowers, lifted by a bright citrus edge. Tonka bean and vanilla round out the middle, and a discreet amber holds the base without weighing any of it down. The house calls this the freshest thing it makes and that reads as true: the sambac is poured on generously and still never turns heady.

Oh My Shisha!
Bergamot, tea, mint and apple open bright and green, almost tricking you about where this is going. Then the shisha accord takes over, cherry and almond and anisic spices over orris and liquorice, and the base runs long through sandalwood, honey, a milk accord, oud and cade. The anise is what keeps the cherry from turning to cough syrup, which is the trap most smoky gourmands fall into. Bottled at twenty two percent, so one spray does the work of three.

Dark Moss
Sea salt, yuzu and green cognac open cold and bright, oakmoss, coffee and cocoa fill the heart, and patchouli, tonka and vetiver ground it. The trick here is temperature. The opening is genuinely cold, all salt and citrus coming off wet rock, and then the coffee arrives underneath without ever tipping into dessert. Oakmoss keeps it bitter enough to stay serious.

The Caveat
The fruit and incense combination is unusual for an oud house and mostly works, though this is a 2025 release with only a handful of ratings so far, not an established classic. Wear it in cold weather when you want an oud that opens sweeter and stranger than the usual Gulf style.
