Cardamom, black pepper and pink pepper open dry and spiced, Assam oud and patchouli build the middle, and Indonesian oud with amber carries the base. The note list is short and almost entirely oud and spice, with nothing floral or sweet put in to soften it.

KSI Take: Amouage built this at a 30% perfume oil concentration for The Essences Collection, and it wears like it: dense, hot and close to the skin rather than loud across a room. That concentration is also the catch, because two ouds and three peppers with no floral or sweet counterweight is a narrow brief, and anyone who wants their oud rounded off will find this unrelenting. Apply less than you think you need, and save it for cold weather in the evening.
