Three expressions of oud pressed into aged vanilla, balsams and smoke.

Impure Thoughts opens on dry, smoky Cambodian oud, then thickens with buttery Indian oud and the slow, deliberate heat of Laotian oud. Aged vanilla tincture and Tahitian vanilla give a bitter, dry tone like a seasoned oak cask, while tolu balsam, Cypriot labdanum, jasmine sambac and patchouli aged ten years form a molten resinous frame. Clary sage adds a dark herbal edge and Omani frankincense keeps the smoke clear.

KSI Take: Opulent, feral and slow burning: the vanilla rounds the oud without domesticating it. This is a serious oud built for experienced noses, best worn in cold weather and in small doses.
