Bergamot, lime and white grapefruit open bright and clean. Beeswax, benzoin, guaiac wood, rose de mai, a musk accord, styrax and Thai liquorice fill the heart with a sweet spiced edge, and Virginia cedarwood, labdanum, light patchouli and oakmoss close it in classic chypre territory.

KSI Take: The Thai liquorice is the detail that makes this, a sweet anise edge sitting where a traditional chypre would have put more moss, and the lighter patchouli keeps the base from going dusty. Anyone hunting the dense vintage chypre experience will find this too polite and too modern, so come to it as a fresh reading of the genre rather than a restoration. Good year round.
