Solare is the sunlit one. Italian bergamot, grapefruit and lemon oil open it sharp and effervescent with ginger behind them, litchi, raspberry leaf and jasmine build the heart around a prosecco accord, and vetiver, vanilla and amberwoods leave a warm trail close to the skin. Mare is the coastal one. Petitgrain bergamotier, orange and bergamot sit over black pepper and aromatic lemon leaves, and the base goes dry and textured on cedarwood, patchouli and ambery woods.

KSI Take: Buying these as a pair is the whole idea and it works, because they are genuinely two different fragrances rather than two versions of the same citrus. Solare is the sweeter and louder of the two, Mare the drier and the better one in real heat. The catch is the format, since the house does not sell them separately, so if only one of them suits you are still paying for both. Wear Solare in the evening and Mare through the day.
