Pomelo, bergamot and lemon open sharp and juicy with raspberry softening their edge. Oud arrives early and runs underneath white florals and ambroxan through the heart, and cashmeran, incense, patchouli and amber close it warm and resinous.

KSI Take: The contrast between a genuinely bright fruit opening and real oud underneath is the whole appeal here, and Belmas pulls it off without the two halves fighting. The citrus burns off inside the hour though, leaving a cleaner and more modern oud than the Omani heritage story might lead you to expect, so wear it in heat where the opening has room to work.
