Aldehydes and mugwort sharpen a lavender and rose heart.

Aldehydes, grapefruit and mugwort open sharp and a little green, cut with galbanum before lavender, Turkish rose and mimosa soften the edges. It closes on a dense, old school base of patchouli, styrax, frankincense, myrrh and sandalwood, with a faint animalic musk running under all of it.

KSI Take: This is a proper aldehydic amber in the old European style, not the sweet vanillic ambers the name suggests today, and the animalic base note reads as soapy to some noses rather than warm. Wear it in cooler weather when you want a formal, slightly retro fragrance with real longevity, closer to a vintage chypre than anything currently on a Prada counter.
