Three oranges and an Indian oud, which should not work and does.

Bitter orange, sweet orange and bergamot open bright and almost edible, then Indian oud takes the centre and turns everything resinous. Olibanum and black pepper keep the smoke lifted while vetiver, cedar and tonka settle it into a dry, musky close.

KSI Take: The citrus top is the whole trick here, it buys the oud about twenty minutes of approachability before the resin takes over. The oud itself is medicinal in the first ten minutes in a way that catches people off guard, so give it time on skin before you judge it, and save it for cold evenings.
