Nigerian ginger and Somali olibanum open it hot and resinous, iris and cistus and a knot of nocturnal flowers give the middle an odd waxy coolness, and dark musk, benzoin, Atlas cedar, tonka bean and cypriol take it down into something humid and shadowed.

KSI Take: That ginger and frankincense opening is the most distinctive thing in the house lineup and it burns bright for about twenty minutes. What follows is quieter and denser, a cool iris sitting on damp wood, and it projects far less than the opening promises. If you want a room filler this is not it. Wear it close, in the evening, in cold weather, where the cypriol and musk have time to warm up.
