Gunsmoke, pink pepper and nutmeg open dry and mineral against dried fruit, then bourbon, black olive and vanilla take over, closing on tobacco, molasses, resins and a dark deadwood base.

KSI Take: The black olive is the surprise, a brackish saltiness that stops the vanilla ever getting cosy. Easily the most difficult of the house vanillas and the most interesting, but a poor match for anyone who wanted something soft.
