Culantro, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf and lime open bright and green, like stems cut by an open window. Galangal brings a warm peppery kick through the heart with sweet basil and green chilli, and patchouli, labdanum, oakmoss, musk and vetiver ground it in classic fougère territory.

KSI Take: Swapping the lavender and bergamot of a fougère for galangal and kaffir lime is a genuinely clever structural trick, and the mossy base keeps it recognisable as the classic form underneath. The herbs do read culinary, so if the idea of smelling faintly of tom yum bothers you then skip it; otherwise it is versatile across seasons and easy to wear.
