Bergamot, Brazilian orange, lemon and Bulgarian rose open bright, chocolate, strawberry, cistus and Omani incense make the heart genuinely edible, and oud, patchouli, oakmoss, heliotropine and Madagascar vanilla weight the base.

KSI Take: Fruit and chocolate at this volume is divisive and Aurum makes no attempt at subtlety about it. If you want a rose oud with gravitas this is the wrong bottle, but for a gourmand with a real woody spine underneath, few things do it better.
