The Index · New Collection
Every House.
Every Bottle.
One Index.
We have reviewed these houses for years. Now we sell them. Sealed, brand new, straight from the house, with new names going up daily.
Launching October 1, 2026THE INDEX goes live October 1, 2026. For years we have told you what is worth smelling. Now we hand you the bottle.
Sealed retail bottles in their original presentation, from houses we stand behind. Each one arrives as a whole range instead of a token bestseller. If a house is in THE INDEX, the range is in THE INDEX.
Anyone can list the one fragrance everybody already knows. Almost nobody carries the rest of it. Stocking a whole range is how you hear what a perfumer actually sounds like, instead of guessing from a single bottle.
New houses are going up daily. The page you see today will not be the page you see next week, so check back.
A house is not one great bottle. It is what the perfumer did next.
Here is what is up right now, house by house, with the bottles we keep going back to. Reservations are open and everything ships when stock lands.
Rubini
Andrea Bissoli Rubini has a cult following and almost no imitators. Vinous, mineral, occasionally reckless, always specific. Nothing here plays it safe.
Nuvolari
$225 · 50ml ExtraitVintage motor racing turned into scent. Italian lemon and black pepper flash across a fuel accord before vetiver, Laotian oud and an actual asphalt note take the wheel. Beautifully reckless, and one of the few experimental fragrances that still smells expensive.
Lemon · Fuel · Metallic Neroli · Oud · Asphalt
Fundamental 2.023
$195 · 50ml EDP IntenseSoave grapes, iris butter and leather. Vinous without ever smelling like a cocktail. A cellar, a vineyard and a worn leather jacket rendered with unusual clarity, then finished with castoreum and cacao for shadow.
Soave Grapes · Iris Butter · Beeswax · Leather · Cacao
Hyperion
$225 · 50ml ExtraitElectric citrus and incense drifting through deep space. Yuzu and a supernova pepper accord open kinetic, then olibanum, Himalayan cedar and cosmic ambers stretch the drydown into something vast and weightless.
Yuzu · Juniper · Olibanum · Himalayan Cedar · Ambergris
L'Eau Très Mer
$225 · 50ml EDPSalt air, dark water and pipe smoke. Not a resort aquatic. This is an explorer back on deck after a deep dive, with wet rope, rum and tobacco curling over the sea.
Salty Skin · Wet Ropes · Rum · Pipe Tobacco · Nautical WoodsAlso from Rubini
On the collection pageTambour Sacré ($225), spiced coffee and Mysore sandalwood as ceremony. Idìlios ($225), pastel fruit, green tea and three vanillas in soft focus. Odenaturae ($195), tomato leaf and wild herbs under open sky.
Maison Jaxob
The heavyweight. Every composition is 100ml parfum and none of them are trying to be charming. Cold weather and long evenings. Start here.
Impure Thoughts
$440 · 100ml ParfumThree ouds pressed into aged vanilla. Dry Cambodian, buttery Indian and deep Laotian oud over vanilla tincture, tolu and frankincense. The vanilla rounds the oud without ever domesticating it.
Cambodian Oud · Indian Oud · Laotian Oud · Vanilla Tincture · Labdanum
Devil's Breath
$440 · 100ml ParfumA controlled inferno. Blood orange and blackcurrant brightness at the edges, then smoke, coffee, tobacco, civet and ambergris take the room. Unapologetically nocturnal.
Blood Orange · Smoke · Coffee · Tobacco · Oud · Civet
Afterimage
$370 · 100ml ParfumDark rum, dry vanilla and aged oak. Nostalgic without softness. Burnished and dry, suspended between worn leather, roasted coffee and a pale suede musk haze.
Rum · Vanilla CO₂ · Dried Oak · Leather · Cashmere Musk
Dramatic Pause
$320 · 100ml ParfumCold incense and burning bakhoor in cathedral air. Pepper and eucalyptus over olibanum, then clove, cardamom and a wine dark grape nuance cutting through the smoke. Tense, ceremonial, magnetic.
Olibanum · Bakhoor · Cardamom · Grapes · SandalwoodAlso from Maison Jaxob
On the collection pagePhilosopher's Veil ($250), a crystalline lavender and myrrh meditation. Forbidden Sketch ($280), orris like graphite on paper. Favourite Sin ($280), Turkish rose in rum dark incense. Asanti ($260), spiced wine and tonka. Poet's Potion ($250), tobacco and patchouli in deep strokes.
Amer Perfumes
Soliflores that refuse to behave like soliflores. Each one takes a familiar idea, jasmine, gardenia, neroli, pomelo, and puts something underneath it that most houses would never pay for.
Shaddock
$157.52 · 50ml ParfumBitter pomelo kept green rather than sweetened. Tomato leaf and olive do the real work, holding the citrus stalky instead of letting it slide into cologne. A warm weather fragrance with a base actually worth waiting for.
Pomelo · Tomato Leaf · Olive · Cognac · Haiti Vetiver
Perennial
$150.96 · 50ml ParfumGreen and mineral, with a leathered finish nobody sees coming. Mint that survives past the opening, then galbanum and green tea, then leather and tobacco arrive to contradict all of it.
Mint · Galbanum · Green Tea · Leather · Tobacco
Mandaroud
$255 · 50ml ParfumItalian mandarin poured over aged wood. The citrus is unusually persistent for an oud composition and that contrast is the reason to try it. A sensible bridge for anyone who has bounced off harder ouds.
Mandarin · Rum · Osmanthus · Agarwood · Tobacco
Arabian Jasmine
$193.23 · 50ml ParfumSambac jasmine built into a full Arabian composition. The rose stack is the real story, three origins doing work a single rose could not, with sandalwood and agarwood keeping it from thinning out. Substantial rather than pretty.
Sambac Jasmine · Taif Rose · Saffron · Sandalwood · Thai AgarwoodAlso from Amer Perfumes
On the collection pageVanulia ($235), vanilla crowded with white florals and Trat oud. Nabeul Neroli ($196.90), neroli grounded in leather and cabreuva. Gardenia Absolute ($169.07), creamy gardenia over Mysore sandalwood. Panira ($157), frangipani handled quietly, with turmeric.
Wamaq
The tightest edit here. No filler, and a house that spends on materials most brands only put in the copy.
Orris Oud
$190 · 50ml ParfumPowder settled on cold stone, then woodsmoke underneath. Iris and oud usually fight each other. Carrot seed bridges them here, so the powder stays cool instead of cosmetic and the agarwood reads smoky instead of barnyard. The most serious thing the house has released.
Carrot Seed · Myrrh · Orris · Cambodian Agarwood · Peru Balsam
Seashell
$170 · 50ml ParfumThe tide goes out and leaves salt on stone. Most marine fragrances smell like clean laundry. This one smells like a shoreline at dusk, with real choya nakh doing the heavy lifting.
Salt · Sea Water · Magnolia · Choya Nakh · White Ambergris
Patchouli
$190 · 50ml ParfumDark earth under smoke, with roses somewhere behind it. Patchouli as the floor beneath an oud rose, not the head shop cliche. It wants cold weather and it will outlast the evening.
Nutmeg · Olibanum · Turkish Rose · Agarwood · Ambergris
Ylang
$170 · 50ml ParfumA garden at the end of a hot day. The peppermint is the clever part, a green edge that stops the fruit and vanilla from collapsing into dessert, with leather and sandalwood waiting underneath.
Pear · Peppermint · Ylang Ylang · Linden Blossom · TonkaYadiy Hadini
Naturals forward, tincture heavy, unusually textural. For anyone who reads ingredient lists and wants to smell the difference between a vanilla accord and an actual vanilla absolute.
Crassna & Rose Otto
$210 · 50ml ParfumLiving Bulgarian rose meets aged Malaysian oud. Rose and oud without the usual polish hiding the raw materials, built on a substantial dose of 2018 Melaka crassna. Humid wood, tea facets, honeyed depth.
Rose Otto · Rose Absolute · 2018 Melaka Crassna · Beeswax · Sandalwood
Vanille
$175 · 50ml ParfumThe vanilla bean rather than the vanilla dessert. Bourbon absolute and Sabah tincture reveal rum, dried fruit and tobacco facets, with fermented cocoa and benzoin giving it grain and shadow.
Bourbon Vanilla · Sabah Tincture · Rum CO₂ · Fermented Cocoa · Benzoin
Magnifig
$175 · 50ml ParfumRipe fig, golden tea and honeyed florals. Cozy without becoming simple. The wool absolute gives the drydown a fuzzy intimacy nothing else here has.
Fig · Japanese Tea Tincture · Oolong · Osmanthus · Wool Absolute
Vert Noir
$175 · 50ml ParfumA chypre rebuilt for people who do not usually love chypres. The green opening is radiant rather than severe, and vanilla and balsams make the descent into oakmoss warm and quietly strange.
Calabrian Bergamot · White Champaca · Sabah Vanilla · Oakmoss · VetiverExtra Virgo
The maximalist of the group. Extrait concentration, absolutes stacked on absolutes, and a perfumer who treats cacao, coffee and cannabis as sacred materials instead of novelty accords. None of these are quiet.
Pangea
$320 · 50ml ExtraitAn iris fragrance viewed from below ground. Vintage Florentine orris root paired with porcini, shiitake and truffle absolutes, lit by royal black hojari incense. Velvet laid over cool soil.
Florentine Orris · Porcini · Truffle · Hojari Incense · Siam Benzoin
Monte Kush
$320 · 50ml ExtraitLiving cannabis terpenes, dark rose and sacred incense. Botanical decadence with real structure. The cannabis reads vivid and herbal, framed by Turkish rose, green hojari and vintage Cambodian oud.
Cannabis Terpenes · Black Rosemary · Turkish Rose · Hojari · Cambodian Oud
Animal Café
$320 · 50ml ExtraitCoffee with claws. Colombian, Ethiopian and Indonesian coffee absolutes sharpened by clove and cinnamon, then dragged into shadow by Papua New Guinea oud and civet. A gourmand that refuses to behave like dessert.
Coffee Absolutes · Clove · Cinnamon · PNG Oud · Civet
Montecristo
$230 · 50ml ExtraitHeat trapped in stone. Helichrysum, honey and propolis against Laotian oud, cistus and myrrh, with oakmoss and animalics leaving a salty, bitter trail. A floral for people who prefer their flowers dried by the sun.
Helichrysum · Propolis · Laotian Oud · Cistus · OakmossAlso from Extra Virgo
On the collection pageCacao Ritual ($320), cacao absolutes and Moroccan jasmine after midnight. Vesta ($230), violet with a pulse, honeyed and incense darkened. Florilegium ($230), tuberose and gardenia after curfew. Ambrosiae ($230), rose dipped in gold.
